Film: Ekaloveyudu A different concept of signing an agreement and surrendering one's life to a cause and the clash of the love versus life is the basic plot of the movie. Story He explains that he got a job in the US and will be going to Mumbai. He reaches Ooty and joins up with his friends (Srinu and Vijay). That's where he chances upon Indu (Krithi) and while the entire male folk of Ooty fall for this pretty girl, she falls for Karthik. Though he loves her to the core, he is unable to reciprocate and ends up rejecting her. That's when a stark truth comes out of his agreement with Bhakta (Antony) wherein his life will be taken by the dreaded man when he wants. Then begins the internal conflict of love taking over the agreement on life and Karthik decides to break the deal. Does he get successful? Is he able to get back Indu? Why does Bhakta want Karthik's life? All this forms the rest of the story. Performances Krithi looks pretty from straight angles and not from the side, she has some good dance moves to her credit. Bob Antony looked really elegant in his role while Sreenu and Vijay provided moments of laughter. Chalapathi Rao, Sudha and others did their bit with élan. The dialogues were just about okay but it was the screenplay that was the major flaw. Though the subject and the plot had its twists and turns, the flavor of love was too diluted to be convinced. Music and songs take a good score here and the makers must look at promoting it in a big way. Camera failed to utilize the locations of Ooty in a big way. Editing was not crisp. Overall, the technical values were somewhat mediocre. Analysis One really wonders why the makers missed out on a powerful actor like Ahuti Prasad who had more of a guest role and nothing more. There is a very different approach when it comes to the theme of the movie but then flaws were evident by the time the idea got conceptualized onto the screen. It is a good treat for the Uday Kiran fans and all those tips about girls and their hearts might look silly but then there are those select few who tend to relish such amateur things. The movie will turn out to be an average fare but then it needs to be promoted in the right sense with the music and concept as the USPs, else Uday might just have to wait for another chance to prove his mettle. |
